I Will Make You Happy Again!

...I'll make an attempt...

My teacher Jan Nagel, vice president of women in animation, her husband died last Friday during class. So this is a card to make her smile, and it worked! I think she was supposed to be on a panel this weekend for the LA Animation Festival, but I don't think she's going to go. I'll be there Sunday with John, just so you guys know- so come say hi!!!

"hey! avoiding the question!"

Why do you want to know so bad?

What a beautiful and thoughtful card. Your teacher is lucky to have such caring students in her time of loss.

i mean, how's it that you got be buddies with John & Friends (& friends being Eddie, Fontanelli, etc.)

that's too lucky. not just as a fan, i mean, as cartoonist, student, etc.

what was the situation?

She's very lucky to have such a thoughtful student. A beautiful and moving card.

Jose said...

uh, that was meant to say "just AS interested", by the way.

hey john's little helper, thanks for the cool tutorials. I'm just curious about that song you put on the "dogspeeddrawing" sequence... what is it?...

(and yes, I've not commented anything lately because I felt embarrased about the e-mail)

that's it. thanks again.

A beautiful card for a good cause. You've gotten so good with the watercolors in what seems like no time at all! Really nice!

SO pretty and you're so nice!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

"Let's hang out in a couple weeks though! I need my shot o' Eddie-laughs."

Ok! Email with info...

"congrats on doing commentary for buckaroo bugs!"

Thanks! I still haven't even received my popeye dvd yet hahaha...

"how do you know john?"

The same way some other people do, blaaaaaaaags.

"i mean, how's it that you got be buddies with John & Friends (& friends being Eddie, Fontanelli, etc.)
"

I met them, and we became friends! Not much of a story...

tom maizen said...

Does "blaaaaags" mean "blogs"?

In conclusion, you're a lucky girl, talented.

May Santa Claus give you a stocking full o' fun this Xmas.

It really is a beautiful and thoughtful card. I don't know her, but I do hope she finds some solace.

Jose said...

ah ha! so truth is out! unsolved mysteries this was not.

you shoulda made up some meetin' john k story, maybe. involving a space pooch of some kind.

Nico said...

Guys-

if you're online, just say hi or chat with them. If you're in LA at a screening or something, just say hi or chat with them.

that's it. There's really no secret to "knowing", "meeting", or hanging out with Spumco folks.

tom maizen said...

So do the "Spumco folks" celebrate your birthday, too, Nico??

Kali Fontecchio said...

"So do the "Spumco folks" celebrate your birthday, too, Nico??"

Hey, hey, hey now, Nico is a nice man undeserving of such sarcastic inquiries. Sorry to pick on you specifically Tom, but this also goes to Jose..

I imagine all close friends celebrate each others' birthdays (unless they are given strict orders not to do so).

Please do not berate Nico because of his comment on the niceness of Eddie, John etc. Sorry to take this tone with you, I just feel like there is a weird sentiment behind your prodding. There is an obvious difference in our relationships with the party aforementioned, that you can obviously distinguish on your own...well hopefully.

Well now, I answered the intial question, I did not avoid it even after your accusation, when it would have been appropriate if I did, but I want to be polite. So please return the favor and be polite to others as well!

Thank you! Goodnight!

Jose said...

no, wait! I'm one of the good guys! don't lump me with that other guy!

Sorry if I offended you. And also sorry that I'm discussing this on this really unrelated post.

SORRY! I bum around on blogs sometimes, saw the question, thought i'd drop in.

***

That's it. I'm gonna draw you some kinda "Sorry, pal" picture now. Lemme work on that.

And Nico if I could write joke-tones in my posts I would. I never really saw meeting people as secrets. or whatever.

let's all be friends & be happy.

Kali Fontecchio said...

I forgive you! Yes we are friends!

Nico said...

whoaaa, I meant no harm here guys. I was just trying to explain that the dudes and ladies of Spumco are just regular people, like anyone.

It just always seems like, to me, that John K fans across the Net have this vibe that there's this big secret to knowing and hangin' with them all.

and TOm, yeah, I'm pals with John, Kali and others, if that's what you meant.. I'm not really sure what you mean otherwise. But hey, enough of this silly topic, especially considering the respect needed for Kali's original post here!
