HAW! That was great! And I'm in it, too! My cup runneth over!

That's a Jim Dandy of a video! And I loved the Eddie Fitzgerald cameo!

Awesome....Where on earth did you guys get those DEVO hats?????
Great Production Nico!( cool backdrops)
Kali, My all-time favorite Devo song is Puppet Boy! I remember back in the day, if you were a devoted fan of DEVO, you were called a DEVO-tee.

This video was a lot of fun...Please do more.

No fair. Flash player went on the fritz. Poop.

Is this available on the Happy Hour Shorts channel on YouTube?

Damn- really? I've had a few complaints- we couldn't get it on youtube- cause they said it violates copyright laws or something.

I think Nico put it on Dailymotion though:

HA!

nice kali! Pretty damn solid tribute.

I have to know though, was that Greg Franklin and Dave Vamos at the end there?!?!?!?!

I did a double take when i thought I saw a decent sized 6PH cameo in there haha.

Kali Fontecchio said...

You sure did them Frank- hahahahaha.

Flash player works. I was on Shitty Work Computer.

That's a very worthy tribute to Devo. Seriously.

And kudos to Nico's editing skills because he did a very good job making it feel analog.

I feel confident in my green screen project now. =)

You guys rock! I can't wait to see more from.. Kalico? That's clever. Clever clever.

yayyy Kali! We ROCK!!!

This looked pretty cool when it was first completed in my digital editing program. Then I converted it to analog and it made my jaw drop. So thank my old VCR for how cool this vid looks! :D

Nico:

Did you do any motion tracking?

Whoa!

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm pleasantly surprised. That was really good! The video is so retro. The graphics and techniques have a totally 80's vibe...totally. I feel like I'm back in junior high watching MTV (when MTV actually played music videos).

Excellent choice of group - Devo rocked. Here's my Devo song request for the next Kali-Nico video - That's Good.

Its a great day when a couple of snot nosed PUNKS can make a better retro 80s video than a major production team could do back in the day.

and running it through the vcr to get that glitch! Perfection!

YEAH DEVO

"...The simulation of flight for training pilots was an early and important use of computer graphics. Today with computer graphics, a wide variety of effects and looks are achieved. Artist Donna Cohen explains the Quantel Paintbox..." :)

Kali Fontecchio said...

Did you memorize that? Haha.

Raff said...

No...I loved that Computer Animation Magic special on PBS when I was a little kid. It was the last time CGI would be seen as art and not Shrek or The Incredible Hulk.

Either way, Zbigniew Rybczynski should be proud of you guys.

Kali Fontecchio said...

THANK YOU Zbigniew Rybczynski!!!

I have the whole thing on laserdisc- then when my bro was a kid he transfered it to VHS. I discovered it while looking for footage of myself as child. Then I showed it to Nico who then transfered it to the computer- and then we transfered the whole music video back onto tape, and then back onto the computer once more! AND THEN ONLINE- it's been a long strange trip for that poor footage, hahaha.

I have really cool friends!

I drove up to Dallas to see Devo three weeks ago! A good time was had by all.

Now that's just silly.
I like it.

Seems very '80s and I should know since I was there.

Devo was always a bit strange to me.
I guess I didn't get it.
They were commenting on what modern society was becoming.

But I might have to check them out, now.

It's all you fault!

Nico said...

you're welcome, Jack!
