Flower Dance

My first children's book I ever illustrated is for sale online! It is currently only available here, but soon it will be on Amazon as well.

If you're on my site right now you can see the flower pattern I made for the background. I made that one after failing at my first pattern, which is the one below. I'm really obsessed with flower patterns at the moment. Someday I want to make a pretty foral rug. Do you guys like the background for my blog??

My tribute to Joanna inspired by her awesome new album! You can get this on my Etsy!

Very nice, Kali!! Congrats on the book!

I was wondering the other day if one can change the background within their blog and I guess you can apparently! I wanna give that a go for my blog one of these days.

Really liking the floral patterns! You really have a knack for making things look real beautiful and natural and yet cartoony! Love the colors too! I also like how you change the colors for each "Store" button you have on every post! Very neat!!

They appear to have misspelled your last name on the front cover (unless it's not supposed to match how it appears on your blog).

Thanks y'all!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Pedro: Let me know if you need help- there's a bunch of options you can do, like a static repeating image like mine, or a non-repeating one that isn't static, or repeated across one row etc.

Ted: They did- but it's being corrected!

Nice! I wanna buy that children book! All the art I saw in your pop's little camera phone looked amazing! I can imagine it even looks 100% better in the book!

I like the flowers too. Sort of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland (the Disney cartoon with good art, not the ugly new one with Johnny Depp's exorcist eyes).

You know what I used to do?
I used to try to find shapes and characters in floral curtains and try to draw them. They never really came out as what I saw, though? Did you ever do that?

Kali Fontecchio said...

Shawn: That's an awesome compliment, thanks!!!!!

Amanda: I did that with bathroom floor textures, but sometimes I'd get lost and cross-eyed staring at all the possibilities, haha.

Your floral work is beauteous. Do you have to do hybrid page creation to get your custom look. Like start with dreamweaver? Or do you do it all with what blogspot provides?

THanks Ellis! I just used the simple crap Blogger provides plus some simple html. Copy and paste style haha.

I love the new background ^o^
and the picture book is such a good price! I'm making a picture book collection for myself, so I may buy it soon!

I tried to buy your book and got an error. They told me to try again later.
I'll buy it tomorrow.
Got to have your first Children's book.
You should be ready by the Con with ye old "sketchbook." The 5 by 8 , straight from Kinkos, black and white item that sells for about 10 bucks a pop.

Hey Ellis! I think right now it's down because they are correcting the spelling error of my name! It should be up again soon I think.............

Eddie! Thank you! Flower patterns are quite difficult!

Hey!
For some reason the link to your book isn't working. I also can't find it when I search for the book on that site?
I've got to say though, thanks for keeping up this blog! Every new post is a joy, I can't get enough of the way you color! Keep it coming!

It'll be back up again soon after they fix my name! :D

I love the background for your blog!
Are you kidding me?!!!
I studied Victorian wallpaper in my silkscreening class last year.
What I find interesting is how huge the flowers were in the wallpaper during the 30's and how it shrank over time.
From wanting to be dwarfed by nature then wanting to dwarf nature.

Hmmmmmn...
